Our client company has aggressive growth plans for this Houston based company and seeking only the most talented and driven accounting professional to join their team.
A national legal services provider with Corporate Offices in Houston, Texas is searching for a Controller to head up their accounting and finance departments.
As the Controller you will report to the President of the company.
Position Duties:
• Financial Reporting
• Supervision of 5 accounting staff
• Account reconciliations
• A/P & A/R
• Cash Management
• Preparation of Budget
• Special Reporting as requested
• Processing weekly and bi-weekly payrolls
• Employee benefits and 401k
• Coordinate external audit and tax
• Invoicing
• Systems Implementation
The ideal candidate must possess a comprehensive, up to date knowledge of GAAP and other accounting and finance principles, concepts and practices; have a strong knowledge of process, able to formulate procedures, evaluate accounting software and lead implementation.
Qualifications:
• Big 4 accounting background
• 5-7 years of accounting supervisory/management experience
• 7-10 years accounting and finance background
• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA (a plus)
• Experience with partnership accounting a MUST
• Strong and demonstrable knowledge of Excel
• Strong and demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft NAV
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills
• Ability to interact with all levels in the organization
• Customer Service and Interaction required
• IT/systems knowledge
Must possess a strong hands-on leadership style, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with clients.
