Corporate Accounting Manager for our client in northwest Houston. This qualified individual will oversee the accounting team in the preparation of all accounting and financial reporting. This position will be responsible to ensure adherence to US GAAP as well as to corporate accounting standards and requirements.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary areas of responsibility for the Accounting Manager cover four main areas:
Accounting: Comprehensive control and knowledge of the General Ledger system for all reporting entities, including process control, compliance with corporate and accounting standards and adherence to a disciplined approach to account control, reconciliation and reporting.
Team Lead: As the leader of the accounting group within the finance team, the Accounting Manager will be responsible to hire, mentor, train and supervise accounting staff. Key will be the integration and interaction with all members of the finance team as well as responsiveness to company needs.
Audit Lead: Maintain control of internal and external audits, including responsible preparation, continual guidance and successful conclusion.
Tax: Coordinate tax compliance and planning with the tax staff. Ensure compliance and accurate recording of all tax entries.
DUTIES
This individual will work to ensure accurate and timely reporting of results to corporate management and provide guidance through formal and informal communication designed to maximize individual and organizational results. Some examples of specific duties are as follows:
• Develops and prepares operational and financial reports that assist the Chief Financial Officer and other senior management in the analysis of operations.
• Ensures accurate and timely reporting of results to corporate business management.
• Provides corporate-level guidance in all business management functions through formal and informal communication designed to maximize individual and organizational results.
• Assists in the oversight of business standards and controls through financial reviews, and formal internal and external audits.
• Provides information to the VP of Finance on the necessary processes and systems to improve total performance.
• Develops advanced-level spreadsheets to analyze current operations and model projected financial results. Develops annual financial and operational plans through the budget process for multiple locations.
• Will work with accounting for business units, rolled up into legal entities, then rolled up into corporate structure.
Emphasis in the following areas will be viewed favorably: consolidation of multiple entities, revenue recognition, budgeting, tax accounting, hedge accounting, financial statement preparation and SOX compliance. A preference is placed on an advanced degree, CPA certification and Public Accounting experience.

The Senior Accountant role is responsible for the monthly global consolidation process and maintains the integrity and accuracy of the financial statements for multiple legal entities, foreign and domestic. Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the monthly global consolidation process
· Performs journal entries and analysis when requested
· Prepares account reconciliations and analysis for assigned accounts, investigates reconciling items and prepares any resulting journal entries.
· Assist with schedule preparation and tie out of 10-Q’s and 10-K.
· Interface with internal and external auditor, interim and year-end audits,
· Directs the set up of new general ledger accounts, dimensions, and integrations in internal system.
· Develops the listing of all monthly and quarterly journal entries necessary to perform the monthly close process.
· Manages listing of all general ledger accounts and the person responsible for the reconciliation of each account.
· Works closely with department managers and various levels of management to provide analysis when need and respond to financial statement inquires.
· Charged with developing process improvements and integrating these improvements into the procedure documentation.
· Establishes and maintains account reconciliation standards and assists with account reconciliation review as needed.
· Serves as a subject matter expert to design and develop training materials. Responsible for keeping this material current as business processes change.
· Prepares monthly reports and other analysis as needed.
· Uses professional experience, knowledge of GAAP and company policies to resolve challenges and manage special projects.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills and Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting CPA degree desired but not requiredMinimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, which includes consolidation and foreign currency exposure (FAS 52)Professional written and oral communication skillsAdvanced Excel skillsStrong analytical skills

Requirements for the Gas Accountant
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance is required

Performs accurate risk rating for each significant credit. - Performs and/or directs staff to perform appraisal reviews in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.- Manages the loan approval process and coordinates the Loan Committees.- Works closely with the President/CEO and other members of Senior Management to develop, implement, and evaluate loan programs and services for the lending department.- Supervises the loan officer's collection activities and collateral exceptions.- Designs and implements an effective and complex allowance for loan loss and lease loss (ALLL) methodology and a CRE concentration monitoring program.- Reviews and approves problem loan reports, monitors the ALLL and makes Board recommendations to maintain and appropriate allowance level.- Closely monitor economic, demographic and other risk conditions in areas where collateral is located.- Facilitates and organizes bankruptcy filings, ORE, and repossessed assets and report status to President.- Manage and perform annual loan reviews on all credits exceeding $500,000.- Manage the Loan Operations Department operations and workflow.- Communicates loan portfolio performance to the Board of Directors monthly by providing past due reports, concentrations of credit, etc., and provides credit risk management reports to the Board periodically.- Reviews and certifies the completeness and accuracy of all credit administration board reports.- Manages loan delinquencies and loan servicing matters, including third party servicers.- Conducts comprehensive due-diligence of sellers, servicers, and loan assets or loan participations prior to purchase, ensuring no geographic, economic concentrations or other conditions exist to protect the bank and diversify credit and collateral risks in the overall portfolio.- Trains and coaches loan origination officers in properly analyzing, structuring, and pricing new loans and in completing credit approval requests accurately and efficiently.- Maintains awareness of completing financial institutions credit products and services to ensure the Bank is providing appropriate and competitive credit products and services. Work with lenders to develop new credit products and services and the underwriting standards necessary to mange those products.- Produces a loan-pricing model in conjunction with ALCO to ensure the Bank is pricing loans competitively with an acceptable risk adjusted return to the Bank.
Summary: The purpose of this position is to supervise and manage the Bank's retail and wholesale credit administration department, ensuring appropriate policies and procedures are in place, and ensuring the bank's lending activities adhere to policy guidelines, loan documentation is adequate to ensure security of collateral, and that ongoing administration and review is adequate to maintain the loan portfolio's quality and profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS for the Financial Systems Analyst:

Bachelor’s Degree in business, computer science or related field is required. Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a degree.

One year experience in ERP application support in General Ledger, Asset Management, Cash Management, Supply Chain Management, Accounts Payable and/or Expenses required along with one additional year of business experience.

PeopleSoft experience preferred.

Experience in Systems Analysis, Business Analysis and/or Systems Implementation is desired.

An ability to solve and analyze logical problems such as may be found in accounting, supply chain management, process engineering, etc. is required

Demonstrated communication skills to exchange information and resolve problems with clients in an effective and courteous manner either by email, phone or in person.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Provide production support and maintenance functions for specific client areas as assigned by manager to ensure positive client relations.

Coordinate and execute all integration processes into PeopleSoft Financials and other systems. Monitors successful completion of scheduled background processes and coordinates within Financial Systems or with Information Technology team necessary resolutions of system issues to ensure timely month-end close and year-end.

Perform necessary system configuration, maintenance and updates as relates to PeopleSoft Financials or other financial and reporting applications. Update or coordinate the update of necessary configuration workbook to ensure proper documentation of configuration setup.

Design, develop, test, and support production queries and reports for PeopleSoft Financials or other financial reporting applications to ensure complete and accurate information is presented.

Develop case scenarios, analyze and resolve any application and integration impacts due to system maintenance or upgrades to ensure no negative impact on production system.
This position reports to the Director of Financial Systems.
