Our Client Company is a leader in crude and natural gas transportation, gathering, and processing, is currently seeking an Analyst/Sr. Analyst, Risk Assessment for the Houston, Texas office. This person will be responsible for assisting in the management of the Gathering and Processing Groups (Asset Teams) commodity exposures by recommending and then executing financial trades to hedge those positions in accordance with the Risk Policy and prudent financial management. Also, understanding and executing financial trades for the oil and NGL marketing groups and providing back-up trading for the Risk Assessment group. In addition, provide optionality assessment, risk management expertise and recommend hedging strategies (Deal Structuring) for customer agreements generated by the Asset Teams and other Houston based businesses.

Responsibilities

· Maintain and analyze historical pricing models to assist in better hedging and optimization decisions.

· Provide commercial staff the financial risk management expertise to develop commodity and transportation service product offerings that meet Client Company's corporate financial risk policies and strategic objectives (Deal Structuring)

· Attain an in depth understanding of G&P/Asset Team economics to improve position tracking, hedge effectiveness, recommend new hedging instruments and strategies

· Maintain Asset Team position tracking spreadsheets

· Review forward positions and pricing as reflected in our Risk System to help ensure accuracy

· Integrate with the Commercial groups as a financial/risk/market resource who can help them make better decisions to be more effective and profitable

· Along with the Manager, Risk Assessment, execute financial trades for the Asset Team as directed

· Assist in the review of assigned acquisition and growth projects with regards to risk assessment, contract review and commodity exposure

· Assist Risk Control in providing position information in a clear and concise manner to Sr. Management

· Actively participate in group market discussions and industry analyst presentations.

· Prepare information for the Meetings as required

· Conduct such other activities as may be requested by the Manager, Risk Assessment.

Qualifications

· A high level of personal drive and natural curiosity to improve the status quo, grow knowledge within the group and challenge peers respectfully

· Experience in energy marketing/trading front office role is essential

· Middle Office and deal structuring experience an important asset

· Knowledge and experience with financial derivative markets, quantitative methods and risk management

· Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in financial risk management, energy marketing, a corporate treasury, banking or similar environment.

· Knowledge of financial instruments and financial derivative products

· Strong industry knowledge (Commodity markets, Petrochemicals, Fractionation, Pipelines)

· Statistical, computing and financing modeling experience

· Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

· High level of personal integrity and humility

· Strong quantitative undergraduate degree preferred (Engineering, Sciences, Math, Statistics, Finance)
