Responsibilities (% of time est in this role in first year)
Primary role in the design and development of a fully integrated MS Access® Database System to perform claims administration, disbursement and accounting processes related to class action and other mass tort litigations (50%)
Maintain and improve existing database systems written in MS Visual FoxPro® ? primarily consisting of various ad hoc program, report and form development or enhancement (20%)
Assist in the documentation of all departmental processes (10%)
Various ad hoc client data research and analysis tasks (10%)
Implementation and enhancement of use of firm wide software solution within the class action department, including time and billing, document management, email, and others systems (10%)
Requirements
Min. 2 years prior programming experience with MS Access® and MS Visual Basic®
Ability to document processes, and design improved processes and/or systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Ability to work as a member of a team
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to completion
Ability to travel when required (typically <5 weeks a year, for 2-4 projects)
SQL Server experience as a requirement andVisual Studio Tools for Office/Applications as a nice bonus but not required.
Other Preferences
Prior MS Visual FoxPro® experience not required, but a definite plus
Prior QuickBooks® accounting system not required, but a plus

AP Accountant
AP Accountant

General Description:
Responsible for compiling amounts owed from 3rd parties, coding invoices received, getting approval for payment, entering into Solomon, and communicating to treasury for processing of payment. Maintains all payment records. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Specific Job Duties
1. Primary responsibility for processing all Accounts Payable invoices/expense reports related to all purchases in the company and ensuring that all invoices are properly authorized and are in accordance with expense policies in place at the company.
2. Research and resolve questions from vendors regarding invoice status and payment.
3. Assist in the organization, scanning and filing of AP invoices with copies of related payments.
4. Assist other members of the department with requests for invoices or other supporting documentation needed.
5. Ensures that all invoices are entered daily without duplicate payments.
6. Reconcile the AP subledger to the general ledger monthly and prepare lead schedules as applicable.
7. Post cash daily.
8. Other assigned tasks as required.
Job requirements
-Be responsible, hardworking, detail-oriented, careful, with can-do attitude
-Can work under pressure; be skillful to handle customer challenge / complaints
- Strong excel skills
-Associates/Bachelor degree preferred.
- Solomon accounting software a plus.
-2 years experience in AP or related field.
- Salary 35k-45k
