Our client company has aggressive growth plans for this international energy company and seeking only the most talented and driven accounting professional to join their team.
The settlements team in Houston focus on Power, Gas and Oil Settlements for the Energy trading group and are responsible for:
• Deal Checking / verification
• Confirmations - incoming / outgoing
• Invoicing
• Settlements
• Reconciliations
• Actualizations
• Brokerage
• Payments
• Asset management
• Structured transactions
This role will support the payments team within the Settlements group. Primary responsibilities include:
• Timely and accurate processing of payments/receipts for internal and external customers
• Responsive to queries from trading, scheduling, pipeline accounting, counterparty settlements, finance, structured transactions and credit staff with regards to payments and receipts of transactions
• Regulatory reporting to fulfill compliance requirements
• Authorize and verify all banking transactional data in support of oil, gas and power businesses
• Investigate, analyze and reconcile transactional discrepancies between entities
The successful candidate should:
• Have previous employment in Settlements/Middle Office with experience in commodities or derivative products and a good working knowledge of ISDA documentation, NAESB and GISB contracts, EEI and WSPP contracts.
• Be highly motivated with a confident and professional attitude and possess high levels of attention to detail
• Have experience preferably in the Banking/Finance or Energy sectors with a degree
• Be confident in the set up of functions and processes and be able to question current procedures with a focus on continuous process improvement
• Work with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality of client material
• Have the ability to prioritize and problem solve, and deliver high level of quality service to clients on a daily basis under tight timeframes
• Enjoy dealing with a large team in a busy environment
Qualifications and Background
• Preferably one to five years experience in the Energy Trading sector
• College degree preferred
