The settlements team in Houston focus on Power, Oil and Gas Settlements for the Energy trading group and are responsible for:
• Deal Checking / verification
• Confirmations - incoming / outgoing
• Invoicing
• Settlements
• Reconciliations
• Actualisations
• Brokerage
• Payments
• Asset management
• Structured transactions
• Vetting process
As an integral part of the Energy team you will be responsible for:
• Providing dealer support to Traders for power, gas and oil
• Verification of Energy Deals (gas and electricity, both physical and financial along with physical oil)
• Generation of ISDA based Derivative Confirmations
• Generation of EEI & WSPP based Confirmations
• eConfirm transactions
• Regulatory reporting
• Payments/Receipts of settled transactions
• Counterparty, brokerage, ISO and pipeline settlement
• Settlement of Energy Deals (gas and electricity, both physical and financial along with physical oil)
• Volume accounting of physical gas and pipeline transactions
• Generation of Rate-set advices and the related Settlements
• Identifying and resolving current issues and prior period adjustments
The successful candidate should:
• Have previous employment in Settlements/Middle Office/Operations with experience in commodities or derivative products and a good working knowledge of ISDA documentation, NAESB and GISB contracts, EEI and WSPP contracts.
• Be highly motivated with a confident and professional attitude and possess high levels of attention to detail
• Have experience preferably in the Banking/Finance or Energy sectors with a degree
• Be confident in the set up of functions and processes and be able to question current procedures with a focus on continuous process improvement
• Work with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality of client material
• Have the ability to prioritize and problem solve, and deliver high level of quality service to clients on a daily basis under tight timeframes
• Enjoy dealing with a large team in a busy environment
Qualifications and Background
• Five to ten years experience in the Energy Trading sector preferably supporting domestic and international physical oil movements
• College degree preferred
