Position Description The Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst/Accountant will be primarily responsible for performing activities around external financial reporting and assisting with researching technical accounting issues for our client company. This position will be integrally involved in the following areas, but not limited to: 1) Preparation of quarterly/annual SEC filings, including financial statements and footnotes, preparation and/or coordination of other required sections in 10-Qs/10-Ks, and interaction/coordination with a number of other accounting and finance groups such as worldwide regional accounting functions, on a regular basis; 2) Preparation/review of and coordination with Investor Relations on quarterly/annual press release materials and script, annual report, and other financial publications/releases; 3) Assessment of new accounting literature, proposed and final, and assist in implementation of new pronouncements; 4) Assisting with technical research and documentation of significant transactions (i.e., equity and debt offerings, M&A, new ventures, etc.) and ad hoc questions; 5) Assisting with evaluation and formulation of conclusions/documentation on other critical technical accounting topics including annual goodwill impairment testing, complex lease transactions, derivative/hedging analysis, and other areas commensurate within a $2 billion complex public global organization; 6) Assisting with M&A accounting initiatives including diligence, purchase accounting (including opening balance sheet allocation and intangible asset valuation efforts) and integration from a technical standpoint; 7) Serving as a key member of IFRS project team, assessing impact, executing implementation plan, and analyzing/interpreting IFRS pronouncements for the Company; and 8) Ensuring complete compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and improving controls where necessary, and evaluating processes for continuous improvements and influencing change where needed. This position will report to the Manager of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting. Position Requirements Job requirements: • Experience in SEC financial reporting, accounting and financial controls in a publicly traded corporate financial environment, or Big 4 public accounting firm. • Extremely strong GAAP and technical research skills, commensurate with a complex global public company environment. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, as the position requires: i) regular partnering with management personnel across multiple corporate functions, and ii) the ability to concisely document technical positions in the form of critical policy and other memoranda. • Strong analytical and organization skills. • Ability to work within a fast-paced environment, under pressure and within strict deadlines Education/Training Required: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting • CPA • 3+ years work experience with demonstrated progression including proficiency in technical accounting areas; • Current or prior public accounting experience within a big 4 public accounting firm -Prefer 2-4 years experience from Big 4 accounting firm If you are in search of a challenging position as a Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst/Accountant or know someone who would be interested in this direct hire opportunity please contact Sterling Blodgett at (832) 242-9402, or e-mail your resume to sterling.blodgett@myrecruiting.biz for confidential consideration.
