Job summary
The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and overseeing all acquisition marketing plans
and processes designed to build awareness and acquire new mass market customers. This position
will drive the successful creation of all acquisition campaigns and activities across multiple markets
from concept to completion including the development of strategies, pricing, offers, scheduling,
budgeting, segmentation and back-end analysis. Leads cross-functional teams to accomplish
marketing program goals and objectives
.
Summary of essential job functions
• Develop quarterly and annual strategic marketing plans to profitably acquire new residential
and small business customers across all markets.
• Manage all acquisition lead generation and conversion programs across various media
including advertising, direct mail, telemarketing, electronic media and online marketing
• Plan and oversee all advertising and promotion activities
• Work with internal partners and external agencies to develop effective direct response
advertising creative and media plans that integrate/extend where appropriate into our channel
marketing plans
• Work closely with our mass marketing sales channels to constantly optimize marketing plans
• Work effectively with pricing organization and operations to give feedback on product and
pricing issues, and balance the price and promotions levers
• Develop and execute all promotions within sales channels to continue to be competitive,
meet sales objectives and financial targets
• Manage marketing program ROI, and make enhancement to improve program effectiveness
and profitability
• Prepare and obtain approval for marketing plans; proactively manage budgets throughout the
year
• Mentor, direct and manage individual direct reports and coordinate development plans for the
overall team
Minimum requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
• 10+ years acquisition marketing experience to consumers and small businesses. Experience
in utilities, telecommunications, cable or other service-based industry required.
• Proven ability to create comprehensive mass-market acquisition strategies in support of new
customer acquisition goals.
• Ability to effectively analyze financial marketing metrics (ROI, Net investment, net
contribution, etc.) and to budget and forecast realistic response, cost and performance goals
for all acquisition and direct marketing programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; works well with other functional groups, and
can communicate effectively with all levels of the company and external business partners.
• Excellent organizational, project management and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical skill and attention to detail.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
• Good negotiation and problem solving skills.
