Job summary
The Marketing Manager – Customer Marketing is responsible for expanding current customer
relationships through the development of marketing programs, such as awareness, relationship
building and customer lifecycle management. This position will drive the successful creation of all
customer loyalty, retention and win-back campaigns and activities across multiple markets from
concept to completion including the development of strategies, pricing, offers, scheduling, budgeting,
segmentation and back-end analysis. Leads cross-functional teams to accomplish marketing
program goals and objectives. Work closely with Director of Marketing to coordinate customer
marketing programs with acquisition programs. Works closely with other members of the marketing
team, outsourced vendors and customer operations.
Summary of essential job functions
• Develop quarterly and annual strategic marketing plans to expand current customer
relationships, retain customers, and win customers back thereby reducing churn across all
markets.
• Manage all retention and renewal lead generation and conversion programs across various
media including direct mail, telemarketing, electronic media and online marketing.
• Work with internal partners and external agencies to develop effective direct response
creative. Manage all communications to the existing customer base including welcome
letters, renewal communications, and loyalty program communications.
• Work closely with the director of marketing and director of outsourced sales to constantly
optimize marketing plans.
• Manage the prospect and customer relationship management database for customer
communication and lead generation programs through list management, lead tracking
management and internal coordination with operations, outsourced sales and internal
systems.
• Work effectively with pricing organization and operations to give feedback on product and
pricing issues, and balance the impact of price and promotions.
• Manage customer marketing program ROI, and make enhancements to improve program
effectiveness and profitability.
• Prepare and obtain approval for marketing plans; proactively manage budgets throughout the
year.
• Understand and conform to regulatory requirements by market.
Minimum requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
• 5+ years customer marketing experience to consumers and small businesses.
Experience in utilities, telecommunications, cable or other service-based industry
required.
• Proven ability to create comprehensive customer loyalty and retention strategies in
support of churn reduction goals.
• Ability to effectively analyze financial marketing metrics (ROI, Net investment, net
contribution, etc.) and to budget and forecast realistic response, cost and performance
goals for all retention and customer loyalty programs.
• Experience in all facets of marketing including online, direct mail, and telemarketing,
with an ability to manage multiple geographic markets.
• Knowledge of marketing processes and disciplines including database management,
direct marketing, and telemarketing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; works well with other functional groups,
and can communicate effectively with all levels of the company and external business
partners Creative insight in to prospects/customers.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
