Our client company has proven steady and consistent growth plans for this Baton Rouge based company and seeking only the most talented and driven accounting professional to join their team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA designation preferred.

Must have a minimum of eight years of accounting experience. Public Accounting experience preferred.

Management experience preferred.

Must have working knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.

Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, with a high level of competency in Excel. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft applications preferred. .

Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, organizational skills, managerial skills, and the ability to work independently.

Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive and critical financial information.

Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while working within assigned deadlines that often require extended work hours.


ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Ensures the financial statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. .

Manages the preparation of monthly financial statements to provide both internal and external customers with information on how the companies are performing financially.


Performs financial statement analysis to identify and explain variances for management.


Manages the annual financial statement audits performed by external auditors to present accurate financial data.


Responsible for the oversight of all monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate presentation of financial results.

Responsible for the research of new Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP) to determine if applicable to the various companies within Blue Cross.

Responsible for the financial statement recording of complex accounting transactions to ensure accurate presentation of financial results.

This position reports to the Director of Financial Reporting.
