An international oil field services company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to work at their headquarters in southwest Louisiana. This position will work side by side with the General Counsel to support all North American business.
The primary functions of the Associate General Counsel are:
· Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts with vendors and customers; negotiating contractual provisions and counseling internal customers on negotiations; developing and managing risk related to contracts
· Providing day to day legal advice to the business on regulatory matters
· Establishment of company benchmarks and best practices
· Locating, managing and negotiating with outside counsel
· Working with Human Resources and other business units on employment issues
· Shared management responsibility of legal staff
Requirements for this position are:
· JD from an accredited law school
· 5+ years of transactional legal practice experience
· Legal background in contract drafting and negotiations
· Excellent communication skills
· License to practice law in Louisiana is preferred
