Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of Louisiana. Bachelor’s degree in nursing or business related field is preferred.

Minimum of five years professional nursing experience to include three years in health care insurance or health care quality improvement and/or utilization management. Two years supervisory experience required.

Experience in both the health plan environment as well as in a health plan vendor organization environment preferred.
Current, broad-based expertise in managed care, quality improvement processes, audit, health care quality metrics, appeal and grievance processing, utilization management, URAC standards, delegation oversight, state and federal guidelines required.

Job Duties for Manager, Health &Quality Management:

Manages multiple staff level positions by administering all HR functions, including but not limited to budgeting, hiring, terminating, conducting performance reviews, setting performance standards, approving work schedules, assigning and directing workload, training and developing staff, coaching, etc. to ensure goals are met. Manages staff turnover, schedule adherence, quality performance and employee, member and/or provider satisfaction to ensure team, departmental, divisional and/or company goals are met.

Leads and coordinates the implementation of quality improvement and quality management activities, including the adequate allocation of staff and resources, to ensure achievement of the QM program and work-plan. Prepares annual evaluation of same. Performs oversight of delegated entities related to quality. Prepares quantitative and qualitative data for presentation to internal and external stakeholders. Leads and directs staff and others on methods for identification of opportunities for healthcare system enhancement, particularly cost and quality improvement to support the strategic business needs of the company.
