Our client company has aggressive growth plans and are seeking only the most talented and driven accounting professional to join their team.


Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

· Responsible for accounting for company's health and welfare benefit plans (medical, dental, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, COBRA, EAP, etc.)
· Analyze trustee's records and reports to ensure all transactions are recorded properly.
· Maintain records and prepare supporting schedules, annual financial statements and footnotes for the health and welfare benefit plans.
· Prepare journal entries to properly record accruals for medical, dental, retiree healthcare, executive benefits, AOCI, deferred tax, etc.
· Prepare IFRS adjusting entries
· Create presentation for quarterly balance sheet review meetings
· Facilitate payments to service providers and insurers
· Ensure rebates, refunds, COBRA and Retiree Drug Subsidies are properly recorded
· Respond to corporate and benefit plan auditor requests
· Work with outside benefit plan administrators and trustees


Experience and skills required for role:

· Benefits accounting experience preferred
· Minimum one year accounting experience
· SAP preferred
· Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
· Accounting or finance degree
· General ledger experience required, including journal entries
· Professional image
· Good verbal and written communication skills
