• Have previous employment in Settlements/Middle Office with experience in commodities or derivative products and a good working knowledge of ISDA documentation, NAESB and GISB contracts, EEI and WSPP contracts.
• Be highly motivated with a confident and professional attitude and possess high levels of attention to detail
• Have experience preferably in the Banking/Finance or Energy sectors with a degree
• Be confident in the set up of functions and processes and be able to question current procedures with a focus on continuous process improvement
• Work with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality of client material
• Have the ability to prioritize and problem solve, and deliver high level of quality service to clients on a daily basis under tight timeframes
• Enjoy dealing with a large team in a busy environment
Qualifications and Background

Senior Staff Accountant
SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Position Overview
This position holds responsibility for a multitude of accounting activities including responsibility for the general accounting functions of half of the Company, including but not limited to, the monthly review of resident billing and payments (revenue and AR),operating expenses, accruals, prepaid expense amortization, and bank reconciliations, and other general accounting functions. This position will maintain the Fixed Asset Module in Dynamics, and generates and posts depreciation. Provide support to on-site staff with day to day resident billing and payments, general ledger account reviews, adjustments, and MoveN software issues. Responds to inquiries from management regarding financial results, special reporting questions and participates in monthly business review meetings and discussions. Responsible for the creation of reports and continued management of the FRX financial reporting software. Ensure an accurate and timely year end close of the accounting systems in Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains. Integrates annual budget into Dynamics. Distributes financial statements to shared drive for access by community management. Lead initiatives in revenue enhancement, cost control and operational and financial analysis of the 32 communities.
Essential Skills and Experience
• Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.
• 5+ years experience in the accounting field.
• A proven track record of success.
• Account reconciliation and analysis of cash, prepaid expenses, deposits, accrued expenses.
• Journal entries including maintenance of recurring journal entries and allocations.
• Attention to detail
• Strong work ethic.
• Computer proficiency: Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains Accounting Software, Microsoft FRX Reporting Software, MoveN Personal Service Program with Accounts Receivable, MoveN Census and Revenue Building Software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
2011 Goals
• Provide support to management in implementing new reporting and control procedures to monitor and manage occupancy, revenue, and operating expenses.
• Reduce time spent on month end close.
• Provide assistance to Business Office Managers and Regional Managers to better understand their financial results.
• Organize and expand the FRX reporting system database.
Development Plan
• Work closely with Controller and other Senior Accountant to review day-to-day processes and make improvements.
• Arrange for additional training in FRX Reporting software so that members of the department are cross-trained in basics for updating and modifying existing reports.
• Clean up the FRX database by removing old and unused row formats, column layouts, trees, and catalog ID’s to provide a user-friendly environment for new FRX users.
• Provide support and assistance to Home Office Management and Regional staff when new ideas and planning arise for the creation or update of financial reporting.
• Provide support and assistance to Corporate Office Management and Regional staff in the implementation of new policies and procedures within accounting and the communities.
• Improve analysis of financial results for better understanding and presentation to management.
• Follow up with Business Office Managers with reminders and checklists to improve month-end process
• Identify areas that are delaying the month-end close process.
• Cross-train in other areas of accounting ( payroll, AP, cash management, AR, etc. in order to continue to operate efficiently when problems or absences occur, and to back up the Controller.
