An international manufacturing company in Morgan City is looking for a project cost accountant to add to its growing team! If you are a self motivated, experienced project cost accountant looking for a relaxed, team oriented environment, this is the job for you!
This newly created position will be responsible for all $30MM projects in one business unit of the company. The cost accountant will work side by side with the Controller, Project Manager and Plant Manager and off site accounting department to create reports identifying changes in actual and estimated costs and to update the project P&Ls.
The Project Cost Accountant will also be responsible for maintaining the cost system and updating standard cost information in SAP. Duties also include preparation of monthly financial statements, forecasting and budgeting, preparation of audit schedules, reconciliations, analysis and compliance.
Qualifications for this position include: BA or BS in Accounting or related field preferred, 3+ years of project cost accounting experience and intermediate MS Excel skills. Individuals without an Accounting degree, but with strong project cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment will also be considered.
