www.myrecruiting is actively recruiting for an Internal Auditor. This global Energy and Software company located in Northwest Houston is seeking an Internal Auditor.
1. A strong accounting background and ability to apply that knowledge to the processes and procedures within the company.
2. A blend of Process Audit, Financial Audit, and Operational Audit experiences.
3. Motivated and proactive mindset, someone who asks questions, wants to learn, and has a desire to understand the business.
Experience in internal audit or external audit and knowledge of business processes is required. CPA preferred not required.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIE: Looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join their team for the North America business.
The Company has a strong internal control culture plus an in-place Sarbanes-Oxley -based internal control system that the candidate must comprehend, assimilate and apply.
The candidate will receive additional internal education and training to develop analytical and competency skills in the following areas within the Company:
• Internal control system over financial reporting
• Risk assessment
• Management and Financial reporting and IT tools
• Operations and significant transactions
• Leadership and management
The Internal Audit Department is developing rapidly and offers several roles and career paths.
As a member of the Internal Audit Department, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Performing supervised / unsupervised testing of the effectiveness of the Company’s internal control system over financial reporting and Financial Statements (SOX)
• Identifying and communicating internal control weaknesses and audit findings to the Internal Audit Director by means of remediation and recommendation plans after each audit
• Proposing improvements in working papers and internal control system
• Assisting Management in the design, documentation, and implementation of new or revised internal and corporate procedures.
• As a member of Corporate Services, performing supportive task for the Management depending on needs (Corporate IT and internal control implementation, special reports on projects, accounting support, etc.)
• Performing supervised / unsupervised financial and operational audits based on both audit standards and company’s policies.
The job may require travel to locations in North America, with the potential for some international travel depending on corporate requirements.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Audit is required (please specify in résumé).
• A minimum of 2 years relevant and related experience in external or internal audit, preferably in a Big Four accounting firm (audit testing and preparing and developing working papers). Three to five years experience would be ideal
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Must be willing to travel.
