Summary:
The Senior Accountant position is in the centralized accounting team within our finance and accounting department. This position maintains accurate financial records, closes the books in a timely and efficient manner, and provides financial information to support decision making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Corporate Accounting

o Record activities of the company in the accounting records in accordance with accepted accounting principles, business requirements and internal corporate governance control frameworks
o Maintain and reconcile the company general ledger, balance sheet accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenues, and expenses
o Calculate related company fees and process related company settlements
o Prepare audited financial statements and related footnotes
o Assist with gas accounting function
o Support with auditors and external agencies
o Prepare monthly sales tax returns
o Support other members of the team during peak periods

• Management Reporting

o Assist in the preparation and distribution of all internal and external financial reporting requirements in a timely, accurate, and complete manner, including but not limited to the reports outlined below:

􀂃Prepare monthly income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
􀂃Prepare and finalize year end financial statements
􀂃Prepare and finalize quarterly and year end the group's statutory consolidation financial statements and reporting packages

Qualifications:
• Degree level education. Finance/Accounting related subject preferred. CPA preferred but not required.
• Minimum 5 years experience in corporate accounting positions, preferably in the natural gas and/or power industries
• Ability to produce financial reports both for internal and external requirements. IAS/IFRS reporting experience a plus


• Concern for accuracy and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Excellent computer skills, particularly spreadsheet and data handling
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• SAP knowledge a plus
• Diligent and dependable
• Ability to cope with rapid business growth
• Able to build solid working relationships with Front, Middle and Back office personnel
• Ability to work as part o f a team as well as individually
