QA Engineer

Our client company has a long term growth plans for this technology company and is seeking only the most talented and driven professional to join their team.

Summary: Evaluates and tests software programs to verify that programs function according to specifications and standards. Identifies, analyzes, and documents defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in software program functions, outputs, online screens, and content.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Develop and maintain automated UI, integration and load/stress/performance tests
• Lead small teams on multiple projects
• Work closely with project managers and testing teams to provide testing timelines
• Participate in the early phases of projects to ensure clear understanding of new functionality which can be translated and documented in the form of thorough test cases and test plans
• Work with developers to understand new features and bugs to be tested in releases
• Collaboratively create, update and execute test plans for all new product features

Competency:
• BS in Computer Science or related degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years QA experience
• Grey/White box testing experience
• Minimum of 2 years experience developing (preferably Selenium RC)
• Solid knowledge of Agile QA practices
• Knowledge and experience with web application architecture and testing
• Superior organizational, written communication and verbal communication skills
• A strong desire to invest in and contribute to higher quality products
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks
• Flexible and positive team-player
• Programming experience (preferably Ruby)
• Cross platform and browser testing experience with Safari, Firefox, IE, and Chrome browsers
• Familiarity with unit testing, e.g. rspec, test::unit
• Experience with load/performance/stress testing

• Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science
• Five years related experience
