Coding Consultant – Baton Rouge

Coding Consultant ($35-45K DOE) –Qualified Candidates do not have to live in Baton Rouge, but must be open to 30-40% travel.

Our client, one of the largest accounting and consulting firms in the Southeast, is seeking a Coding Consultant in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana area. The right candidate will perform audits for all types of healthcare coding services in addition to assisting clients with research and training. This position will also require a candidate who can perform coding seminars and be able to knowledgably speak on various coding topics.

Required Experience and Education:

• Associate’s Degree in HIM or related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• CPT, CCS-P or CCS certification required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience CPT (including evaluation and management coding) and ICD-9-CM.
• In-depth experience in inpatient and outpatient coding.
• Frequent overnight travel required.
